Wallyworld (Walmart): Why can't things be simple anymore?

First let me explain I spent my morning, and when I say morning I mean I was up at 4:00 AM and out of the house by 5:00 AM, making the drive to Morristown so I could have a Caudal Block done. Standard after a caudal is to limit your activity for several days.

Well I had to go to Walmart when I got back home for some needed things (like supper) and while there and since it was right in front of me I thought I would make a copy from where I had bought a PS3 from yet another Walmart a few weeks ago. Copy was needed just in case during the first year it needed serviced by Sony and I had bought the online 3 extended warranty offered by Walmart (they offer only 2 years in the store). This gave me the original 1 year plus 3 more years and for $44 or so the Walmart warranty seemed a good deal.

Well here I am and I could have done the simple copy machine but paper goes to hell so quickly and Walmart receipts fade away in a matter of weeks or months so I though I would be bright and spend the extra cash and have it made right there in the photo department on photo paper so I would have this copy years later. We (my wife) made the copy and went to present it for pay there at photo and the person freaks out. She had to call a Manager back as she did not feel she could allow us to make a photo quality image of the Walmart receipt. Why? Who the hell knows.

Well there I am in an electric store buggy because I am not suppose to be doing any real walking and having to wait on a Manager so I did what I always do. I talked loud but not too loudly on how stupid this was and I hoped the Manager said I could not have this done and how I most wanted to call HQ for Walmart so they would have to issue an apology and make even kick in for free what I had been willing to pay for. Now the gal who had refused us was hearing all this plus everybody else within that section of the store because I was loud and of course she makes yet another call. The Manager finally arrived and said of course I could make this type of copy and then looked at her like why did you bother me with this.

Now I did not add that this gal was angry right from the start and she acted like this copy of what belonged to me was worse than asking her to print kiddie porn.

Now can anybody come up with a reasonable excuse for why she even had any doubts? I said reasonable. If I had wanted to do something shady I would have done so at home and edited whatever I wanted but that would not have worked because a check of the sale in question would have showed I tried to alter things (and yes they can look it up on electronic items).

On my side being in pain, having to use the electric buggy and not my cane and just walk, and with the caudal comes elevated sugars and I am a Type II Diabetic. To be honest I wanted out of there and this silly delay got me a bit pissed. I did almost reduce the gal to tears or that could have been just her anger that she had showed from the start. Of course she gave an apology as we left but I bet that was because she had heard me state I loved to call Walmart HQ and she probably did not need nor want that attention.

I will not call Walmart HQ this time. It could be she was having an off day or it was her time of the month or maybe she was working a department she had little knowledge of as they often throw anybody anywhere when somebody does not show up. I do not want to see her unemployed over this but I will try to check out photo from time to time and if this is how she always is I probably will call. I have little time or patience for fools and I think she may be one plus an angry one to boot.

So this is clear. I do have medical issues I will not get into right now. For now I will probably not add much to this. When I get time and have things dealt with I would like to share photos of Cumberland Gap as it is one of the most beautiful places you can find. Also I see sharing poltical ideas as this is interesting times and being in Tennessee I am sure the local, state, national, and world news will provide me plenty to comment on plus I have a wife, grown kids in college plus some out and of course Grandkids. I was also active in animal rescue for a long time. You may even find me talking of the fantasy books I am always reading and the ones I want to write. When I do start doing this on a regular basis I do not think I will have any problems finding something to add. TOO much to pick from may be my Demon.

Just starting so a brief note (I tend to get going so brief is open to be defined as I see fit on a daily or more often basis)

What I want to do with this? Well, I am very interested in politics and maybe you think liberalminded means Liberal. Well it often does and often does not. I am from Tennessee and thus float from conservative and liberal and all points between. Some views I think are conservative and others label as LIBERAL. For example my views on sexual orientation I see as good old conservative. Before conservative was taken over by the far religious right gay issues and other sexual issues were seen as private issues and not as they are not. I would still see these as part of my conservative base while Repubs would label me as LIBERAL (yes all caps again).

I hope to define what I see as liberalminded with this blog and make what comments as I can as I get a chance. I probably will not add to this for a while as I took the chance now to just this started and reserve the name. I do intend to share as soon as I get other things resolved in RL but for now I have this blog established and that was Goal # 1 and I had put this off for way too long. Now that is started I hope the temptaion of it sitting here will force me to get to it.

Defined LiberalMinded? Sort of like having an open mind but not. I sort of me being liberalminded means I can hold a variety of views and many are conservative yet what makes me not the same as the other labels of conservative and liberal and others is that liberalminded means I can hold my view and still see other views as valid.
